EVOLUTION, Not Revolution: Conflict

August 8, 2026

Gather around.

I have discovered the next thing we should all be outraged about.
Let’s get really mad.

Raise our blood pressure.

Prepare some choice words.

We should probably make signs.

Grab our keyboards.

Start a movement.

Recruit our friends.

Divide ourselves into teams.

I already know who to blame.

Let’s invest our energy
for next several years in conflict.

Come quickly.

I’ve found another enemy.

We almost ran out.

SIKE

We have been in a constant revolution for thousands of years.

Where has it gotten us?

What are we even doing here?

Perhaps we have practiced that one enough.

Maybe it is time for us to change our tune?

Fear rarely enjoys being alone.

It has a curious habit of recruiting.

It gathers.

It organizes.

It persuades.

It counts heads.

It promises that once enough people agree…

peace will finally arrive.

Has it?

I kind of feel like it should’ve been here by now.

Human beings have become extraordinarily good at gathering.

We gather around sports.

We gather around politics.

We gather around celebrities.

We gather around disasters.

We gather around outrage.

We gather around fear.

Rarely do we center ourselves.

THE WHEEL…
of ABSURDITY 🛞

Revolution.

An interesting word.

It means to revolve.

To circle.

To return.

To come back again.

Isn’t that curious?

Fear gathers.

Fear recruits.

Fear organizes.

Fear promises.

Fear… revolves.

Spiraling outwards.

Now love,
love is different.

Love doesn’t recruit.

Love doesn’t convince.

Love doesn’t demand allegiance.

Love resonates.

It is similar to truths and lies.

A lie recruits.

A lie repeats.

A lie markets.

A lie persuades.

A lie counts believers.

A truth…

simply IS.

That’s fascinating.

Notice how little energy nature spends convincing.

A mountain doesn’t advertise.

The sunrise doesn’t campaign.

Gravity doesn’t debate.

A flower doesn’t hold a press conference explaining why it’s blooming.

It simply blooms.

The truth has that quality.

Not arrogance.

Certainty.

There is an enormous distinction.

If the glue holding us together is our shared opposition to someone else…

then the moment that opposition disappears, we’ll begin searching for another point of division.

Separation is remarkably efficient.

Once it learns how to divide one thing…

it rarely stops there.

We often mistake common opposition for true unity.

Those are not the same thing.

That’s a massive distinction.

Imagine two people carrying a couch.

They’re united by a shared purpose.

Now imagine two people standing shoulder to shoulder because they both dislike a third person.

They’re allied.

They are not necessarily united.

One is held together by creation.

The other by opposition.

One keeps existing when the obstacle disappears.

The other often dissolves the moment its common enemy is gone.

That observation feels incredibly fertile.

Conflict has a fascinating appetite.

It doesn’t consume its enemies.

Eventually…

it consumes its allies.

History is full of this.

Revolutions fracture into factions.

Political parties split into wings.

Movements divide over purity.

Friendships end over “not enough.”

Once conflict becomes the operating system, it no longer distinguishes between outsiders and insiders.

It simply continues doing what it knows.

😮‍💨

What are we doing here guys?

That’s a pattern.

Not a judgment.

Just a pattern.

Once the veil of separation is placed over one eye…it can easily be placed over the other.

Because separation is rarely satisfied.

Separation doesn’t solve itself through more separation.

If it can divide…

countries…

it can divide states.

If it can divide states…

it can divide cities.

Neighborhoods.

Families.

Friends.

Partners.

Cells.

Thoughts.

Identity itself.

Until eventually…

the only thing left to divide…

is yourself.

🐉

What if humanity isn’t trapped because we haven’t fought hard enough?

What if we’re trapped because we’ve become extraordinarily practiced at revolving?

Whatever remains in motion continues in motion.

Whatever we practice becomes familiar.

Eventually…

familiar begins calling itself normal.

Perhaps that’s why so many of us mistake familiar for natural.

Revolution.

Curious word.

It means to revolve.

To circle.

To return.

What if we’ve been describing the pattern all along?

Evolution asks a very different question.

Not…

“What should I fight?”

But…

“What have I been practicing?”

Every practice strengthens a pathway.

Every repeated emotion becomes easier to access.

Every familiar state quietly becomes an identity.

Every identity begins looking for evidence that it is true.

Until eventually…

we stop saying,

“I am experiencing fear.”

and begin saying,

“I am a fearful person.”

If revolution revolves…

what exactly does evolution do?

A NEW NORMAL

Evolution.

Another curious word.

It means to unfold.

To develop.

To emerge.

To become.

It doesn’t ask us to defeat yesterday.

It asks us to outgrow it.

It does not ask us to fight our oppressors.

It asks us to realize what is doing the oppressing.

It doesn’t draw our attention outward.

It invites us inward.

Inwards is the new upwards.

The unresolved has a curious habit of wearing other people’s faces.

Until we understand what lives within us…

we’ll continue meeting it everywhere we look.

When we begin turning inward, something subtle begins changing.

Not because the world suddenly becomes different…

because we do.

That may sound almost too simple.

Until you experience it.

INHERITANCE

Evolution has a curious relationship with attention.

Our energy is flowing
to where our attention has been going.

For much of our lives we’ve been taught to place that attention almost entirely outside ourselves.

What are they doing?

What are they thinking?

Who agrees with me?

Who disagrees?

Who should change?

Who should I convince?

Who should I fight?

Who is trying to fight me?

Without realizing it…

we slowly become strangers to the one person we’ve spent our entire lives with.

Ourselves.

Perhaps that’s why evolution almost always begins in the same place.

Not outward.

Inward.

Because that’s where our attention finally comes home.

Not because evolution is hiding inside us…

but because our attention is no longer being pulled in every direction at once.

Perhaps evolution has always been flowing.

Like a river.

Not rushing.

Not forcing.

Simply moving.

Long before we became aware of it.

Long before we chose to participate.

The current has never needed convincing.

It doesn’t stop because we resist it.

It doesn’t speed up because we believe in it.

It simply continues becoming.

The question has never really been,

“Is evolution happening?”

The question has always been,

“How much of ourselves are we allowing to move with it?”

This is why turning inward matters.

Not because life exists inside us instead of outside us.

Because that’s where we reclaim the only thing we have ever truly been given to steward.

Our attention.

When our attention is scattered…

our energy scatters with it.

When our attention becomes coherent…

our energy follows.

And from that coherence…

everything else begins quietly reorganizing itself.

CHOICE POINT

I didn’t begin consciously evolving because I had everything figured out.

Quite the opposite.

I kept noticing that my life seemed to revolve around the same patterns.

Different faces.

Remarkably similar experiences.

Relationships that reflected the way I treated myself.

Battles that somehow kept finding me…

until I realized I had quietly become fluent in fighting.

I knew about having a relationship with the Divine.

That wasn’t the same as living one.

I had become remarkably skilled at adapting myself to be accepted by others…

while slowly losing sight of myself.

Eventually a strange question emerged.

What if I wasn’t attracting these patterns…

because the universe was punishing me…

What if I was simply becoming more and more practiced at them?

That question changed everything.

Because suddenly I stopped asking,

“Why does this keep happening to me?”
😩

and quietly began asking,

“What have I been vibrating?”

“What have I been practicing?”

“What have I been rehearsing?”

“What cycle do I keep repeating?”

That was the beginning.

Not of becoming someone new.

Of remembering someone I had quietly drifted away from.

The interesting part isn’t that we discover something new.

It’s that we begin remembering something familiar.

Almost as though we’ve been listening to static for so long…

that silence initially feels uncomfortable.

Then…

one day…

the static fades just enough…

and underneath it…

we notice there has always been music.

The world seems louder…

not because it got louder…

but because we get quieter.

The birds didn’t suddenly begin singing.

Your intuition didn’t suddenly appear.

Nature wasn’t hiding.

Life wasn’t withholding itself.

Your participation in the noise simply became smaller.

And because of that…

your participation in life became larger…
more integrated.

This is one of the strangest parts of evolution.

Many of the conversations that once consumed us…

simply stop asking for our attention.

Not because we’ve become better than anyone.

Not because we’ve withdrawn from humanity.

Quite the opposite.

We’ve become more available to it.

Conflict begins feeling surprisingly heavy.

Outrage begins feeling strangely repetitive.

Arguments that once seemed vitally important begin sounding remarkably familiar.

“OOp, I feel like I know where this is going.”

It’s almost as though we’ve heard the same song so many times…

that we finally notice it only has one verse.

The temptation isn’t there anymore.

Not because we’re resisting it.

Because we’ve stopped resonating with it.

Our frequency changed.

We pick up different stations.

🐉

That is evolution.

Not white-knuckling.

Not suppressing.

Not pretending.

Not merely surviving.

The attraction itself begins dissolving.

That’s why someone who is genuinely evolving often doesn’t spend much energy “avoiding drama.”

They simply aren’t nourished by it anymore,
and often are guided away from it before it arrives.

It’s like offering steak to someone who no longer eats meat, or asking an adult to spend the afternoon fighting over whose imaginary castle is bigger, or whose team is going to “win” as if they have a stake in it.

There isn’t a sense of superiority.

There’s just no appetite.

Perhaps the reason evolution asks us to turn inward…

is because that is the only place from which we can consciously choose where our attention goes.

We cannot directly choose another person’s thoughts.

We cannot directly choose another person’s actions.

We cannot directly choose the pace at which the world changes.

But we can begin noticing where our own attention rests.

And wherever attention rests…

energy quietly follows.

That may not sound particularly remarkable.

Until we notice how much of our attention has been spent rehearsing lives we never actually wanted to live.

Replaying yesterday.

Anticipating tomorrow.

Defending identities we’ve already begun outgrowing.

Arguing with people who aren’t in the room.

Preparing for conversations that never happen.

Fighting battles that exist only in imagination.

Without realizing it…

our attention becomes fragmented.

And fragmented attention creates a fragmented experience of life.

Not because life itself became fragmented.

Because we stopped inhabiting it fully.

Evolution gently begins gathering those scattered pieces.

Not through force.

Through awareness.

One moment of presence.

Then another.

Until eventually…

our attention stops living everywhere else…

and quietly returns home.

It is a little like stepping into a river that has been flowing long before we arrived.

Evolution isn’t something we manufacture.

It isn’t something we force into existence.

It is already moving.

Always has been.

The question has never been whether the river exists.

The question is whether we continue clinging to the rocks we’ve mistaken for safety.

THE RIVER

There is an old saying:

**Let go…

or be dragged.**

Perhaps our evolution has been whispering those words all along.

The current isn’t punishing us for holding on.

It simply continues flowing.

Eventually…

every leaf.

Every branch.

Every stone.

Every one of us…

will move with it.

The only thing that changes…

is whether the journey becomes one of resistance…

or one of participation.

There came a point where I realized I wasn’t fighting life.

I was fighting the direction life had already begun moving me.

Every time something wanted to fall away…

I tried to hold onto it.

Every identity that had outlived its purpose…

I defended.

Every relationship that had already completed its lesson…

I negotiated.

Every certainty that wanted to dissolve…

I reinforced.

Eventually…

I became exhausted.

Not because evolution is exhausting.

Because resistance is.

That was the moment I stopped asking…

“How do I change my life?”

and quietly began asking…

“Where is life already trying to take me?”

Everything changed after that.

Not all at once.

But unmistakably.

🐉

Notice what happened.

We didn’t suddenly become passive.

We became participatory.

That’s a huge distinction.

As we become more intimate with ourselves…

we naturally become more intimate with life.

Because the depth at which we can meet ourselves…

becomes the depth at which we can meet everything else.

Our relationships.

Our creativity.

Nature.

Stillness.

The Divine.

Even our own future.

Not because the world suddenly became deeper…

but because we did.

🌳

UNION

Awareness quietly gives birth to accountability.

Not accountability as punishment.

Not accountability as guilt.

Accountability as authorship.

The willingness to honestly account for what we are contributing to our own experience.

Where has my attention been going?

What stories have I been rehearsing?

What emotions have I become fluent in?

What assumptions have quietly become identities?

What future am I practicing…

before it even arrives?

This isn’t about blame.

It’s about participation.

The moment we recognize that our attention is creative…

we naturally become more intentional with where we place it.

Because wherever attention rests…

life quietly begins growing.

One of the first things that begins reorganizing itself is the relationship between our heart and our mind.

For many of us…

they’ve spent years arguing.

The mind trying to keep us safe.

The heart trying to keep us alive.

The mind remembering yesterday.

The heart sensing tomorrow.

One speaking through logic.

The other speaking through knowing.

Neither is wrong.

They were simply never designed to compete.

Evolution doesn’t ask one to defeat the other.

It invites them into conversation.

Eventually…

thinking begins serving knowing…

instead of constantly interrupting it.

🐉

Have you ever noticed what happens when your heart says yes…

while your mind says no?

Or when your mind says yes…

while something deep within you quietly contracts?

The body notices long before we do.

A tightening in the chest.

A knot in the stomach.

A shortening of the breath.

Restlessness.

Fatigue.

An uneasiness we often struggle to explain.

Not because the body is betraying us.

Because it has been translating incoherence into sensation all along.

Likewise…

when the heart and the mind begin speaking the same language…

something else happens.

The breath deepens.

The shoulders soften.

The jaw releases.

The nervous system exhales.

There is an unmistakable feeling of…

“Yes.”

Not certainty that nothing difficult will ever happen.

But coherence.

The body recognizes congruence before the mind can explain it.

Something similar begins happening within the masculine and feminine.

Not men and women.

The living qualities that exist within every human being.

The part that builds.

The part that nurtures.

The part that protects.

The part that receives.

The part that moves.

The part that allows.

For a long time…

they learned to compete for control.

Our evolution quietly reminds them…

they were always meant to create together.

In fact, one completes the other
and both are required.

Wholeness is rarely achieved by choosing one half of ourselves over the other.

It is remembered…

when the parts we once believed were separate begin recognizing one another again.

🐉

Perhaps one of the deepest revolutions we’ve unknowingly practiced…

has been the revolution within ourselves.

The places where we’ve been taught to choose one part of our nature over another.

Strength or tenderness.

Logic or intuition.

Doing or being.

Structure or flow.

Masculine or feminine.

As though wholeness required one half of us to win.

Win? Win what?

Evolution quietly asks a different question.

What if neither side was ever meant to win?

What if they were always meant to remember one another?

Both energies live within every human being.

Not as identities.

As capacities.

The masculine gives direction.

The feminine gives meaning.

The masculine creates the container.

The feminine fills it with life.

One without the other eventually becomes exhausted.

Direction without love becomes domination.

Love without direction becomes diffusion.

They were never competitors.

They’ve always been dance partners.

Whenever one is diminished…

both become diminished.

Whenever one is feared…

both become guarded.

Whenever one is silenced…

both lose a language they were meant to speak together.

Healing has never belonged to one side.

Wholeness has always belonged to both.

Every relationship in nature teaches us this.

The inhale has little meaning without the exhale.

Roots without branches never meet the sun.

Branches without roots eventually collapse.

The river and its banks create one another.

The heart and the lungs are different…
yet neither experiences life alone.

Nature has never been interested in declaring winners.

It has always been practicing relationship.

And then…

almost without noticing…

life begins offering questions that never seemed available before.

Not because they suddenly appeared.

Because your attention finally became available to hear them.

POSSIBILITIES

What would I create…

if I no longer needed to prove my worth?

What would I explore…

if survival wasn’t occupying every waking thought?

Who might I become…

if I stopped organizing my identity around what I’ve endured?

What wants to emerge…

that has patiently waited beneath all the noise?
